Adonis now 2 and Delta just turned 1 June 10th and 19th. Both are still slowly greying, but will be their sire grey colour by the time they are 5 or so. Adonis is still in tact and remains pretty quiet and stands about 15.1. Delta is a pretty big yearling at 14.2 (14.3 behind).

Martha Jane’s January Visit

Martha Jane who is very allergic to horses, enjoyed the afternoon with the curlies. They enjoyed her company and the attention and were soon following her around like curlies do. On her first visit, even going near Brooke (the TB) was enough to cause a hive or two and respiratory reactions. So during subsequent visits she stays in the curly only zone with great success.

Martha Jane and Master (her favorite). I think he likes her too.

Delta’s winter coat is coming in curly and it’s hard to believe she is the same horse in the picture below. She is greying much faster than her brother Adonis.

Another filly is born

Here is the new filly born near midnight last night about 20 minutes from me. She is out of a bulldog type QH mare that goes back to King. A local mare, but bred AI. A flaxen sorrel and the filly even had a bit of flaxen on her black tail. Since Sil cannot make anything but bay based, I didn’t know how or if the flaxen would show up, but it seems to have. Maybe it won’t stay. Doesn’t look like she will be grey or curly to me. She makes Delta look big and curly though. Amazing how fast they grow and fill out.

What she lacks in curls she makes up for in colour. this is Silver’s LOUDEST pinto foal so far (with a solid mare). I prefer the minimal pintos, but I was really surprised at how much white this one has. Not great pics, she is just over 12 hours old, but I had to take some. I’m going back again and will hopefully get some better ones.

This little filly is as sweet as can be, but hasn’t quite learned her manners yet. She loves to play and got a little too close when she kicked out. Fortunately it wasn’t a hard kick.

Silver's Spot of Magic "Delta"

This beautiful curly x TB filly born Wednesday, June 10th at 10:30 pm, came about 2 weeks early. She’s been early to try everything since then. Hay, grain, water, grass, this little girl is on fast forward. She already halters and leads too. Super smart and funny, just like Sil. She has his high whites and a pinto mark on her rumps just like he does too.

In keeping with the Greek them, Delta gets her name from the triangle shaped spot of white. She is already showing a lot of grey hairs on her top line as well, so it won’t be visable for long. I think she will turn out to be a taller version of Silver for the most part. Adonis her full Brother is curly grey version of Brooke his TB dam.
